Instead of adding to the waste, wouldn’t it be smarter to reuse what we have today.
I’m Mike, and for 15 years, I’ve been lucky enough to witness this, a true believer in it’s transformative power. Beyond the environmental, there is economic reasons why we should too. It can be expensive up front to have to renovate, there in most cases is much lower value creation than the new constructions, and you can start with a structure in place to assist you with costs. Tax incentives and grants make it affordable to stimulate economic development within areas. As mentioned earlier, there can be some great new investment within the current system.

Be aware of this vs. something the same, they’re not. Adaptive has components of historical that are the same. Restoration is about getting all things back to former. Meanwhile, adaptive offers new utility and a new goal that offers both functionality as well and still shows the historical touch needed to get back to where it started from. You can’t rely on trust-we will need to test the material and it’s worth. The most important thing is to show the physical of the building and to ensure the structural is in tact. Start with is there any cracks , damages from liquid, or settling, you know? Will the needs of the buliding even work for the new plans. We will need to be comprehensive and not to leave anything non-negotiable
Where? Location, Zoning, and Accessibility
Where everything is, what it is zoned as, and whether you can go there are huge. A buliding can either go big or go to 0 based on these factors. The right opportunity will show building accessibility requirements as far to meet what all can go to for each buliding.

Be prepared to show everything where you are at because gems are hard to find that work. I saw one an old power plant turned office and it was amazing. Although it took time there were major issues to get there. So there are challenges that turn into something new for campuses and businesses, the building also revitalized more than what was there already. You need a mindset to have a little taste of a new and improved process.

I will be honest, it isn’t an easy path and you face hurdles! Many regulations will be something to push towards success. Getting a good local is important to not getting played. Just to make sure you aren’t paying in the future versus now.

It must be something that has a delicated change is what to follow versus throwing something in the process. Something new but a touch of the past needs to be there for it to work. Like HVAC systems were very hard on different systems so we got materials that showed both the needs of the system yet still honored the building.

Can’t be cheap! More money than you want can and will be going out! Money runs very fast and you learn what you want versus what you need to continue your dream vision. Working with your contractor to not to take over you on the costs is super important. Don’t just design but manage budget and it will be done.

Technology is important because to create or enhance, we need it. With the technology 3d we can see every issue and can stream line the process. For example: using AI to have a brewery to become an Appartment!! Plus there is drones! What can’t we do in our world that can use every power we can.

I make what can and will move just so we can be creative to make that building last. Just so it isn’t torn down and you all have to build, lets use what is their to go and continue with amazing and incredible. Design is amazing to sustain life!!
Success: Turning Vision into Reality
Project 1: Phoenix Lofts
Something to look at is the tranformation to turn the building into something. People and a piece that has been lost turning it to a new corner. The buildings were something rough like broke parts but they had an amazing inside to create.
Challenges were trying to get every new to the code without changing history. It showed many people that it could. This is so people can see how the transformation of the Phoenix Lofts occurred and make similar choices to create life back in what may feel and look lost.
Project 2: Great Central Market
The goal was turning the abandoned marketplace to the people. People also had envisioned this to be something that can have something the visitors would like. As time passes from many decades, buildings that pass change in so many ways. Materials that looked new were changed from old. I got the new technology and had them check and fix damages to those systems. Now, businesses are having events together and that helps people get out with each pother.
What I have learned!
All things that have created those lessons and there is value to the power and to what all happens. It is importnat to undertand every buliding . Connecting and working with people to have amazing values, to make things happen, and don’t be afraid to be amazing!!
